Anci National Assembly, emergencies as major challenges for the future of municipalities
With the Civil Protection Department's stand, the I don't take risks campaign
An overview of the present to better face the great challenges of the future. This is the objective of the 40th edition of the Anci National Assembly, from today until Thursday 26 October at the Genoa Exhibition Centre, where I don't take risks will also participate with the good civil protection practices.
The 2023 Assembly of Anci, a partner in the campaign representing the Italian municipalities that actively contribute to it, aims to highlight the importance acquired by municipalities in recent years, even in complex emergency situations. This is an important consideration to face the ongoing transformation in the best possible way.
Within 'Three colours on the heart. Mayors unite Italy" - this is the title of the event taking place in the city of Genoa - I don't take risks finds its place as the final stage of the exhibition route created by the Civil Protection Department.
It is an articulated journey full of food for thought, which follows the timeline of the history of civil protection as told through the emergencies in our country to naturally land on the campaign and one of the fundamental principles in which it is rooted: creating communities that make a difference, ready to take immediate action to prevent or reduce the effects of risks affecting the territory. Precisely in light of this crucial aspect, mayors become active participants in the risk reduction process.
The first civil protection authorities are called upon to promote opportunities and initiatives in the territory, so as to foster widespread knowledge of natural risks and the actions to be taken before, during and after a disaster among the population. Numerous meetings that, in the spirit of "I don't take risks 365", contribute to educate increasingly aware and prepared citizens every day.
The opening day of the Anci National Assembly today will also be attended by Head of State Sergio Mattarella who, just a few days ago, awarded the medal of the President of the Republic to I don't take risks, recognising the campaign as a worthy initiative for the second year running.
