The conference "Volunteering 2022 tells its story: different identities in a common narrative" organized by the Civil Protection Department in collaboration with CSVnet, CSV Bergamo and the Municipality of Bergamo takes place today, November 12.

Among the topics addressed during the day there is also I don't take risks, the focus of the talk "Daily commitment to local and community care." The event, organized in the Aula Magna of the University of Bergamo, will analyze the values and work of the national communication campaign through the testimonies of Tina Bianca, a civil protection volunteer, and Elisabetta Giusto, a volunteer of the Sabaoth Missionary Association.

The meeting emphasizes some key issues of the I don't take risks campaign such as prevention, in a more general framework. The discussion deals with a possible expansion of the boundaries of volunteering, in fact, the territorial context is widened so as to cover the cultural one, and change the meaning of the expression "taking care" with respect to people, territory, environment and animals.

The conference is one of the highlights of the program of participatory events organized in the Orobic capital during the year, on the occasion of Bergamo Italian Volunteer Capital 2022. In the presence of the Head of the Civil Protection Department Fabrizio Curcio, organized civil protection volunteers and association volunteers have the opportunity to discuss their role within society, bringing together ideas and values from both realities.
