Today in Pescasseroli Abruzzo ended the two-day conference "Parks and Communities in Network - Models of Sustainability for the Country's Development" organized by the Anci-Associazione Nazionale Comuni Italiani Coordinamento per le Aree Naturali Protette in collaboration with the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park.
The initiative, which is among those organized for the 100th anniversary of the Park, also brought the I don't take risks communication campaign on good civil protection practices, with gazebos dedicated to the risks affecting the territory. Communicators from Abruzzo's civil protection associations participating in the campaign shared with citizens both useful information to enhance the culture of prevention and good practices to adopt to reduce the effects of flood, earthquake and forest fire risks. The last one - of particular interest to the initiative - was recently introduced in the test that took place during the National I Don't Take Risks Days on May 20 and 21.
The event, "Parks and Communities in a Network," was an opportunity for municipalities located within parks or with nature reserves or protected areas within their perimeter, and other environmental and economic actors, to discuss and dialogue on some crucial issues affecting the future of Italy's green heritage.
The aim of the initiative, carried out with the participation of Federparchi, was to strengthen cohesion between parks, the territory and the communities living there, creating a network and defining actions, directions and policies to engage in sustainable development of these places of great natural, historical and cultural value.
