I don't take risks at the Earth Technology Expo 2022

An interactive path tested for the first time

Io non rischio a Expo ETE 2022

Io non rischio - don't take risks returns for the second year in a row to the ETE-Earth Technology Expo, the exhibition of technology applications and innovation. It opened two days ago and will enliven the spaces of the Fortezza Da Basso in Florence until Saturday, Oct. 8.

The area dedicated to Io non rischio is created in collaboration with the Region of Tuscany and is located within the exhibition space reserved for the Department of Civil Protection, among the promoters of the initiative. The occasion is also useful to test a new formula for the square with a set-up increasingly projected toward the future of risk communication and aimed at integrating new solutions - technological and otherwise - for the revival of the culture of active prevention.

An interactive square. Four days for a special square focused on earthquake and tsunami risks with advanced training tools and modeling to learn about their effects up close and make learning civil protection practices more effective. Visitors can meet volunteers from different associations-coordinated by the Civil Protection of the Tuscany Region-ready to guide them through the knowledge of the territory's risks.
The classic path gives way for the first time to an interactive one: the Totem is replaced by touch-screen panels that reproduce its functions, the Time Line by historical films on the effects of past earthquakes.

Digital technologies for more effective risk communication. As an absolute novelty of the edition, the key elements of the campaign have been integrated with the "iRisk?" project of the Metropolitan City of Florence, a platform that illustrates local seismicity in precise detail and allows the user to find out what degree of risk their home, school, workplace is exposed to.
Also participating in the initiative is the voluntary association Lares Italia with its "Sisma VR" project, a device that allows for virtual reality experience equipped with experiential learning functions, not only capable of simulating an earthquake but also guiding those who use it in the correct behaviors to take in case of a tremor.

The event is a unique opportunity to touch upon the endless possibilities of the digital world and new technological frontiers. A moment of participatory and concrete confrontation with the common goal of improving citizens' life with a careful and conscious land management, carried out with the most suitable and reliable technologies.
