I don't take risks: six squares in Sicily on volcanic and forest fire risks
Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 July in the province of Messina will host the National Days of May cancelled due to bad weather

On Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 July, the I don't take risks squares on volcanic and forest fire risks will be held in Sicily, an opportunity to spread awareness of territorial risks and the culture of prevention with the belief that more aware and informed citizens can make a difference and improve the safety of their communities.
The events on the calendar will make up six squares, all in the province of Messina, that had been scheduled during the National Days of 20 and 21 May, then postponed due to the hydro-weather alert issued in the same days.
In particular, two squares will be dedicated to the risk of forest fires: in the afternoon of Saturday and Sunday, the Gruppo Comunale di Protezione Civile of Giardini-Naxos will be in Piazza San Pancrazio to explain to citizens and tourists the forest fire phenomenon and the good practices to contribute to reduce it. On Sunday 2 July, the Mari e Monti 2004 Association will be in Piazza Cairoli, Messina, from 6 PM.
Also this weekend, four locations will host the I don't take risks information points on Stromboli and Vulcano. On Saturday July 1, communicators from the Associazione Radioamatori Eoliani (Aeolian Radio Amateurs' Association) will set up a square inside the 'Franchino Monteleone' sports ground on Lipari while, on the island of Vulcano, volunteers from the Milazzo Italian Red Cross Committee will meet citizens at the Porto di Levante. Finally, on Sunday, communicators from the Club Radio C.B. will be at the Milazzo hydrofoil terminal, while on the island of Stromboli, the Volontari Isola Stromboli (V.I.S.) will be in Piazza S. Vincenzo from 11 AM to meet tourists and residents to talk about good civil protection practices.
