“Facciamo squadra”: in Abruzzo un progetto di Servizio Civile Universale sulle buone pratiche di protezione civile
More than 40 youths will be active players in prevention activities and public information

June 12, 2023 began "Let's make a team," the Universal Civil Service project involving more than 40 young people who will go to work in different municipalities and civil protection association centers in Abruzzo.
The project, which is part of the " Io vengo dalla luna" (I come from the moon) program, presented by the Abruzzo Volunteer Service Center, shares the common points of the I don't take risks campaign: the dissemination of civil protection knowledge and culture, along with risk prevention and risk mitigation. The goal is to inform citizens about the risks on the territory and the behaviors to adopt in case of disasters, and to increase the population's responsiveness to emergencies.
Over the course of the 12 months, civil service volunteers will have the opportunity to test their skills both in practical activities, such as inspections on the territory aimed at preventing waste dumping and fires, and in the development of communication content and its dissemination to the population, institutional bodies and on various social networks.
In close contact with the voluntary and associational realities, young people will develop active citizenship skills and will have the opportunity to work together to enhance and protect their territory and their community, to make their fellow citizens more aware of the risks and the important role they can play in risk mitigation.
