To raise awareness among the youngest about flood risk, the Autonomous Province of Trento, through the Civil Protection, Forestry and Fauna Department, promoted the competition "Alluvioni a Catinelle. Meglio anticipare... e comunicare!", involving over 2,000 secondary school students from all over the territory.

On this occasion, the students will have the opportunity to express their creativity in project activities that describe good civil protection practices to adopt in case of flood. The projects, currently underway, include posters and panels, infographics, and a treasure hunt to learn more about water dynamics.

Each class of every comprehensive institute, having an interest in the initiative, can participate singularly, or collaborate with the others to represent the school. Collaborations between different classes and institutes are also allowed to maintain coherence on specific local issues.

The Commission, made up of officials from the Civil Protection, Forestry and Fauna Department and one from the Education Service of the Autonomous Province of Trento, will select the three most significant projects by assessing their consistency with the proposed theme, the ability to express the message and the creativity of the content. An award ceremony will be organised for the authors of the selected projects, to which the representatives of the students taking part in the initiative will be invited with their teachers and school principals.

The prizes will consist of Civil Protection kits and certificates of merit for the participants. In particular, the winning works will be used to launch an information campaign to promote awareness of flood risk in the area.

Those interested can deliver their works to serv.bacinimontani@pec.provincia.tn.it before midnight of 10 May.
